Reporting to the Principal, Medical Affairs & Clinical Governance, the Senior Manager, HI Clinical Governance is responsible for expert review and advice for clinical governance activities across Bupa Health Insurance, including Bupa-delivered, third party-contracted, and hospital-contracted health services and programs. This position will also perform internal auditing of clinical decisions made within Bupa Health Insurance to ensure strong clinical governance is upheld throughout Bupa Health Insurance. The position holder will work within the Medical Affairs & Clinical Governance team and will engage and partner with both clinical and non-clinical stakeholders across Bupa Health Insurance.
What you’ll need to make it possible:
- Unconditional and unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, Medical Practitioner, or other relevant allied health practitioner
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a clinical discipline
- Significant recent clinical governance experience in a hospital or large health care environment with demonstrated experience of leading and successfully undertaking clinical reviews and audits
- Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with clinicians and non-clinicians to evaluate and introduce new healthcare service models, therapies, technologies, and innovations
- Excellent organisational and project management skills to balance competing demands and conflicting priorities, delivering high-quality outcomes within agreed timelines
What you’ll be doing in this role:
- Partner with Bupa teams to help design, review, and provide expert advice for new and existing healthcare services and programs delivered by Bupa clinicians for health insurance customers.
- Provide evidence-based assessments and expert advice on clinical governance aspects of third party-delivered health programs and services.
- Review clinical quality, safety, and performance of healthcare programs and services delivered by Bupa and third-party providers including contracted hospitals.
- Lead and undertake clinical audit and assurance activities to independently assess clinical decision making and adherence to internal processes and guidelines and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Manage and improve the processes and systems that support clinical decision-making to ensure quality service standards are met.
