The purpose of this job

Bupa is a leading health insurance provider in Australia. Our customers include over 4.7 million Australian residents and international visitors who come to Australia as a tourists, workers, and students.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Program Execution in the HCM Program Execution & Delivery Team, the Business Analyst role will partner closely with HCM delivery managers, change managers and initiative owners to drive high quality business analysis to deliver outcomes for the HCM portfolio of Strategic and BAU Initiatives.

The HCM Business Analyst is responsible for leading and delivering successful business analysis outcomes across multiple HCM initiatives by clearly defining business problems via in depth investigation, research of best practice and the gathering of requirements, documenting solutions, and liaising with key stakeholders across the organisation.

HCM has a program of strategic initiatives and BAU projects of varying size and duration that span across HI and the broader Bupa business. The initiatives can be strategic, BAU, foundational and compliance in nature.

What you’ll need to make it possible:

• 2-5 years’ experience in an analytical type role
• Formal Business Analyst qualification (desirable)
• Proven experience in establishing and facilitating workshops for requirements elicitation
• Proven experience in process mapping
• Demonstrated experience working with various project delivery methodologies - Hybrid, Waterfall and Agile
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated experience working with Change Management teams and knowledge of Change Management Methodologies
• Experience using Lean tools and techniques such as Value Stream Mapping
• Proven ability to communicate, build trust and forge strong relationships with stakeholders

What you’ll be doing in this role: 

Requirements Gathering

• Lead workshops, conducting interviews and developing surveys to capture and develop Business Requirements across multiple projects
• Use various business analysis techniques, tools and skills such as customer journey mapping, current and future state mapping, gap analysis and pain point identification to define the problem the business needs to solve
• Own, develop and deliver a suite of Scope Definition documents (BRS) across all projects, utilising standard templates and guidelines

Process Analysis & Optimisation

• Modelling business processes and identifying opportunities for process improvement
• Partner closely with initiative and business SMEs to develop a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities
• Apply critical thinking and data-driven insights to influence decisions and drive outcomes through rational, evidence-based approaches.

Change Management

• Working with Change Management, to identify the pain points and potential impact of the changes on different parts of the business, process, technology, or people and helping to establish and embed the change into the business successfully
